Five Day Summer Camp @ venue: Woodlin ES

half day/full day camp

Rising Grades 1-6

**New**

Due to the amount of interest we have had from parents, we are now accepting rising first graders!

For those of you who are returning to our camp from last year, we have many new projects and classes! (As well as the return of some favorites, such as Marshmallow Shooter...)

This year we're offering two unique weeks of projects:  Week A and Week B. If you would like to sign up for more than 1 week, be sure to choose one week A and one week B. They can be taken in any order. The classes are the same, but the projects are different!

Sign up for one or two of the following four weeks!

Week 1 (curriculum A): July 8th - July 12th 2013

Week 2 (curriculum B): July 15th - July 19th 2013

Week 3 (curriculum A): July 22nd - July 26th 2013

Week 4 (curriculum B): July 29th - August 2nd 2013

Class Descriptions:

Robotics: Children will build and program robots using LEGO® Education’s award-winning WeDo robotics and programming software. Depending on their prior experience students will either follow step-by-step on-screen instructions to build their robots, and then build a suggested program to get their robots working, while those who are ready to build more on their own will be given a programming challenge, set by our instructors.  For our older, more advanced campers we have Lego Mindstorms.

Building Engineers. In this class, kids will learn the basic mechanical engineering concepts while designing and building cool things like tower cranes, suspension bridges, and a Buckminster Fuller Dome.

Fun With Electricity! No, we won’t send your child out with kite and key to play in a lightning storm. We’ve got something almost as fun in mind: playing with wires, batteries and lights to make a light up dance pad and other cool projects and learn the basics of electricity.

Crazy Contraptions:  Taking our engineering principles even further, we’ll be investigating the science behind mechanical devices and building our own contraptions such as crossbows, marshmallow shooters and automata.
